Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting General Ledger team located at our PRAGUE office.

Purpose:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for completing a range of financial activities and tasks resulting in the presentation of financial and management reports. These activities may include analytical support to management and delivering key analysis of the financial and operational performance on a continuous basis and the review and interpretation of transactions and events in order to assist the business in making sound commercial and economic decisions.
The Accountant may be responsible for administrative tasks relating to areas beyond finance which require management as they impact the finance function (e.g. payroll).

Key Responsibilities:

- Reconcile monthly suspense account and balance sheet accounts and ensure accounts are clean with justifiable balances;
- Assist in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting for areas of responsibility including delivering explanations on all balances and ensure follow up on outstanding balances taking corrective action in the following month;
- Assist in the preparation of calculating financial ratios and maintaining historical records of ratios;
- Assist in preparing the interpretation of data for the purpose of determining past financial performance;
- Prepare information required for external audit and internal audit as directed;
- Assist in the completion of filing of local financial statements, VAT and corporate income tax and other compliance activities;
- Ensure information provided is in compliance with group accounting policies and procedures, internal control guidelines and Business Process Blueprints;
- Ensure customer service levels are delivered as per Service Level Agreements;
- Complete activities relating to process improvements and departmental project initiatives

Education & Qualifications:

- University Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

- 4+ years work experience in an accounting environment preferably within in a medium to large international company;
- Previous experience in audit activities is an advantage

Knowledge & Skills:

- Good analytical capabilities;
- Good working knowledge of US or UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus;
- Ability to multi-task, to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Demonstrate unfailing business ethics, ability to use sound judgement, discretion and professional integrity;
- Good communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external customers at all level;
- Demonstrate PC proficiency (MS Excel, Word, Power Point);
- Comprehension of Oracle, SUN (or equivalent financial systems)
- Knowledge of Hyperion reporting system desirable;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; other languages a plus;
