The respected global company is seeking Regional Financial Controller based in Prague. It is a new created role.

Purpose / Direction / Mission of this role:
The candidate will be responsible for the financial administration of all centres within the Cluster (9 countries- e.g. Germany, France, Norway, Sweden etc.). More than a pure financial position, the candidate will be a partner to the business, providing all pertinent information to manage a profitable organisation with growth plans. Forecasting future performance through regular budget exercises is a key part of the role.

The candidate will also be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial data according to both IFRS accounting principles as well as local statutory requirements, via the supervision of a team of accountants based in Prague and (possibly) in the Cluster.

This is a newly created role – the candidate will be responsible for building their team in Prague, understanding and transitioning the accounting from the Cluster into Prague, getting a hands-on in-depth understanding of accounting as it stands today, and planning the transition from the Cluster into Prague.

Major Responsibilities:
• Initial set-up and transition of accounting function from Cluster into Prague
• Month & Year End Reporting, including P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, cut-off and timely submissions according to Group requirements including taxation.
• Controlling & Managing the Business via the provision of timely reports by centre, analysing revenue, costs and statistics, and regular communication with the FD and the Area Director.
• Budgeting and Forecasting according to Group guidelines. Preparation and validation of the data in a timely manner, and consolidation of the Area in the relevant reporting system (currently Hyperion).
• Responsibility for drawing up employment contracts for all employees in the designated Cluster/Country, as well as managing all HR issues in liaison with the EMEA HR team. Direct contact with payroll providers, and management of the HR.net system for the Cluster/Country.
• Audit management – both internal and external, contact point for all queries.
• Management of a team of (remote) accountants, ensuring the communication of business goals and deadlines, holding direct reports accountable, and ensuring the right level of training.

Qualifications :
• 5+ years professional experience in a similar role in an international environment
• Fluent English, knowledge of local area languages. Czech helpful but not essential
• Accountancy background, preferably with IFRS accounting standards
• Analytical mind with attention to detail, and ability to “think out of the box”
• A self-starter, able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
• Integrity, loyalty and confidentiality
• Excellent managerial and communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft suite of products, ability to work with sophisticated financial reporting systems (HFM and SUN Account a plus)
• Team player, flexible, open-minded, commercial, responsible
• High level of motivation and positive approach
• Czech is not a must
